The Fire and the Forge: The Story Behind the Medallions

What began as a simple admiration for coins — their gleam, their weight, their quiet stories — became the spark for something far greater. In late 2022, Sean, a lifelong tinkerer and craftsman, set out to give something tangible back to the online communities he’d become part of during the rise of cryptocurrency. He envisioned custom metal medallions — not mass-produced novelties, but heirloom-quality pieces forged with soul and precision.

Outsourcing the work proved prohibitively expensive, so he decided to do it himself. He knew nothing about metallurgy, mold-making, or casting — but he had grit. Starting in early 2023 with a single hand torch and a furnace carved from a firebrick, Sean taught himself to sand cast molten Copper, Silver, and Nordic Gold. The early medallions looked rough, almost ancient — pirate coins born of smoke and sand. But the process was unpredictable, and the gleam he longed for just wasn’t there.

Refusing to quit, he dove deeper. He taught himself CNC machining, upgraded his tools, and began cutting precise molds from graphite. The quality improved, but imperfections still haunted the castings. So he evolved again — pouring solid metal billets and machining the designs directly into them. By the end of 2024, he had mastered a process that met his standard: gleaming, durable medallions that felt as good to hold as they looked to admire.

But Sean’s vision had outgrown his original intent. What began as a tribute to his communities became a calling. Now, with a refined product and years of hard-earned knowledge behind it, his goal is to grow the business — not just in scale, but in impact. He dreams of employing others, of building a company that supports families, tradespeople, and dreamers like himself. To Sean, every medallion isn’t just a finished product — it’s a symbol of transformation, a reminder that anything imagined can be made real with fire, patience, and persistence.

When you hold one of his medallions, you’re holding more than metal. You’re holding a story. His story. And perhaps, a piece of your own.
